2021 LeadBlue Awards - Individual Award Application

Nominator information

All award applications must be complete to be considered by the selection committee.  All forms must be submitted no later than 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

All student nominees must be in good standing with the university. (2.0 or above GPA and no outstanding conduct issues)

Diversity and Inclusion Award
The Diversity & Inclusion Award is presented to a student that demonstrates an active commitment to issues of diversity, inclusion, and social justice. This award is presented to a student leader who has made a positive contribution to the University by working to improve diversity and intercultural understanding among students on campus. Students cannot nominate themselves for this award.

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria: quality of supplemental materials, demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, leadership, and social justice.

Emerging Leader
This award recognizes a first-year or second-year student who has made a significant impact on the UK community, and who demonstrates the potential for continued service and leadership at the University of Kentucky.  Nominees should demonstrate a high level of achievement in one or more areas, such as membership involvement, leadership, organization development, active participation in UK campus activities, and community service or philanthropy.

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria: quality of supplemental materials, demonstrated leadership, involvement, leadership potential, and campus impact.

Leadership Legacy Award
This award recognizes a junior, senior, graduate or professional student whose leadership and involvement experiences have made a lasting impact on the University of Kentucky community, and who demonstrates outstanding character and commitment to developing future leaders.  Nominees should demonstrate a high level of achievement in one or more areas, such as membership involvement, leadership, organization development, active participation in UK campus activities, and community service or philanthropy.

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria: quality of supplemental materials, demonstrated leadership, organization and campus involvement, mentorship, and campus impact.

Student Organization Advisor of the Year
This award recognizes a student organization advisor for the exemplary service and commitment of working with and advising a registered student organization. Nominees should demonstrate a high level of achievement in one or more of the areas: encouraging involvement in University activities, working with the group toward common goals, encourage collaboration with other groups, faculty, staff, and campus departments, commitment to the development of responsible, informed, and productive members of the University community, and/or assist students with programs, meetings, and events that are consistent with the organization’s mission and purpose.

*Nominees must be listed as an advisor within their BBNvolved registration to be considered for this award*

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria: quality of supplemental materials demonstrated advising skills and commitment to university and organization’s mission.
 

Student Organization Member of the Year
This award recognizes an outstanding member of a registered student organization who has made a significant impact on their student organization, while not serving directly in a leadership position.  Nominees should demonstrate a high level of achievement in one or more of the areas: commitment to the organization's mission and goals, commitment to the continued growth of the organization, dedication to community building among members, and contributions to the campus community.

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria: quality of supplemental materials, the member’s commitment to the organization’s mission and growth, contributions to community building, and contributions to the campus community.

Student Organization Officer of the Year
This award recognizes an outstanding officer of a registered student organization who has made a significant impact on their student organization while serving in a leadership role.  Nominees should demonstrate a high level of achievement in one or more of the areas: commitment to organizational mission and goals, commitment to the continued growth of the organization, dedication to leadership and development of members, and contributions to the campus community.

*Nominees must be listed as an officer within their BBNvolved registration to be considered for this award*

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria: quality of supplemental materials, the officer’s commitment to the organization’s mission and growth, contributions to leadership and development of members, and contributions to the campus community.
