Thank you for your interest in becoming a Leadership Coach for the Second Year Success Program! We are excited to learn more about your interest and potentially match you with a second year student. This program will be a second-year specific program designed
to help students navigate their second year on campus. The Second Year Success Program utilizes a framework to help move students through the stage of focused exploration by providing intentional experiences through core workshops, self-selected experiences,
reflection, identity exploration, career exploration, goal setting, and coaching.
Leadership Coaches will be helping second year students’ progress through critical developmental stages, set goals for the upcoming year, and serve as a resource and connection at the university. Requirements for Leadership Coaches are:
*Additional training date may be offered in early fall for those who cannot attend July training
- Meet with their student at least twice a semester
- Attend the Leadership Coaches training on Wednesday, July 17, 2019*
- Attend the program kick off on Sunday, August 25, 2019
- Participate in two semester check-ins on Friday, October 25, 2019 and Friday, December 13, 2019.
Connecting with a faculty or staff member on campus is a critical component of student retention and success, and of this program.
